There are mainly three reasons why this blog exists:
• In current times, when we are bombarded by information from all sides, there is a great dearth of balanced analyses of several vital issues. Various interest groups drive their agenda through picking and choosing facts that suit to them. There is hardly any comprehensive analysis considering the complexity and the totality of issues.
• In addition, the main-stream media loves sensationalism and extreme views. I do not think majority of people have anything to do with extremists of any sides – leftists/rightists, capitalists/communists, Brahmins/Dalits, Hindus/Muslims, patriarchists/feminists, and so on… I firmly believe majority of people are at some dynamic point of this N-dimensional spectrum, rather than belonging to any of the1-dimensional permanent dichotomy.
• There are hardly any voices which draw attention to the long term trends. Where the world is going? Where India wants to be by the end of this century and what is it doing at present for it? How is it generating resources and equipping its people? The shortsightedness of main-stream media is frustrating indeed.
This blog is a sincere attempt to provide rational, justifiable, and holistic analysis of complex issues that touch our lives. Of course, to make sense of all of it and to cover every single issue is beyond the reach of a single individual. However, within my personal capacity, I would like to present my perspectives to understand India in a global context being mindful of long-term interests.
Self-Disclosure:
Financially, my wheel runs through stipend, as I am a doctoral student; and I am not dependent on big corporations, or political parties like the main stream media usually is. I do not belong to any political party. Ideologically, I think I believe in value-based Centrist Pragmatism. And I vote to a party which seems to be doing a better job at Human Development Index and Knowledge Economy Index at respective times.
